So, what should one do to get the best, consistently reliable, and superior tasting Breakfast in Kerala? Well, head straight to one of the Indian Coffee House chains of restaurants, where they serve their Hidden Stellar Secret Dish, Bombay Toast !!!
Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day for me. It is the first meal of the day and it sets the mood and tone for the rest of the day too. Although I may not be as obsessed about the perfect breakfast as Reynolds Woodcock is in the movie, Phantom Thread, it should at the least be near perfect 😁.
The Breakfast at Indian Coffee House in Kerala manages to achieve this feat, especially if you reach there early in the morning. However, what I admire about them the most is that they are good at achieving this with amazing consistently across their different outlets. In terms of quality and taste, the Indian Coffee House chain in Kerala is different from the other Indian Coffee House chain in the rest of the country and even in Kerala, there are two types, one belonging to the Board and the other to the workers… I’d say Try’em Both😁 and settle on what you prefer.
My favorite dish here is what they call the Bombay Toast, which in all fairness is known to the rest of the world as French Toast. The French Toast served in the Indian Coffee House chain is outstanding in flavor, texture, and quality. So far in all my travels around the world, I haven’t eaten a better French Toast than what they serve here. It’s like having a rich buttery custard filled with generous oodles of Eggs (See Pic) all cooked to perfect sweetness. This paired with their strong South Indian Filter Coffee leaves your breakfast urges satisfied beyond comprehension. I personally like to have this heavenly combination at either their Wayanad or (as in this case) their Alleppey outlets. If you are ever in these parts of Kerala or heck, just in Kerala… search for Indian Coffee House and try this divine signature dish and let all your troubles melt away in its warm and comforting bliss.
