Music Almost As Old As Creation Itself (From Earth’s Perspective)

Spread The Love

Since around the 7th century BC, great Greek philosophers like Pythagoras believed that each celestial object produced musical notes, and based on their location, orbits, gravity, etc., all these notes synchronized with each other to form beautiful melodies.     universe, galaxies, fog-2258216.jpg

So, Job, who lived several centuries before Pythagoras, was not really that far off when he recorded in his book, under the verses 38:6-7A, the LORD saying to him, “On what were its foundations set, or who laid its cornerstone, while the morning stars sang together.”

NASA Hubble shared the below video for all Astro-enthusiasts celebrating Deep Field Week. The video is a Sonification of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, and it was provided by NASA Hubble, while the sonification was done by a group called System Sounds. The majority of the scientific observations included in this post have been paraphrased from both their contents. However, the spiritual aspect covered in this post is my perspective, inspired by this mesmerizing video.

The image in this video was captured by the Hubble Space Telescope in 2014. Each blip of light seen in this video is a real Galaxy with billions of stars belonging to our observable universe. In the video, these galaxies are represented in sound. We can hear a musical note for each galaxy when its emitted light was captured by the Hubble; the farther the galaxy, the longer it took for its light to reach Hubble.

There is one musical note for each of those galaxies, and as you look farther into the image, you are actually looking farther back in time. The pitch of each Note highlights the observed color (red is low pitch, blue is high pitch), while the volume of each Note indicates the apparent size of that particular galaxy.

Towards the very end, you can hear the extreme redshift in the notes caused by the galaxies as they steadily recede from earth at an incredible speed due to the constant expansion of the Universe. Also, the galaxies visible in this Image are just a tiny scrap of our observable universe as captured by the Hubble Telescope.

The light emitted from some of these galaxies may have potentially begun its journey from its original location almost 13 billion years ago before reaching Hubble. You are listening to data that is worth 13 billion years.

Considering that scientists date our Universe to be approximately 13.8 billion years old, it would mean that some of the musical notes represented in this video initially materialized at a time when GOD may have just finished creating our universe. Since the universe is constantly expanding, the melody produced by these musical notes would have been a lot more synchronized and beautiful around the time of creation itself. As for the concept of time from the perspective of Heaven Versus Earth, I will write about it in one of my future posts.

For now, I will join the author of the Psalm 148:3-4 in saying:

“Praise Him, O sun and moon;

Praise Him, all you shining stars.

Praise Him, O highest heavens,

and you waters above the skies.”

I highly recommend watching the video with Headphones and Full Volume for an immersive experience.
